Satellite Chapter Chartered: March 20, 1956 with 21 members. Sponsored by Airborne Chapter. Accomplishments of first year, 1956-57, were rather “spectacular” – Presented a seminar, membership tea, scholarship fund-raising fashion show, “Boss” Night; had monthly newsletter (The Orbit); sent delegate to 1956 International Convention and a charter member passed the CPS® examination.
April 2007 Satellite Chapter name was changed to San Fernando Valley Chapter.
Seminars: Seminar in 1957 for the benefit of Pierce College students. Ten seminars presented by Satellite; one jointly with San Fernando Valley Chapter. Satellite for many years took part in the Joint Chapter Seminars sponsored by five to eight chapters in the greater Los Angeles area. Also hosted three seminars with Anacapa Chapter (1992, 1993, 1994) and hosted one seminar with Pasadena Chapter (1996).
CPS Review and Study Courses: A total of nine.

1960-61 San Fernando High School, review course.

1962-63, 1969-70, 1987-89, 1995-96, arranged CPS review courses; 10-12 weeks in length.

1958 and 1960, study courses on basic secretarial procedures. One-day CPS workshop and mock exam. In 1966 one member arranged and conducted a weekly CPS study course from September to May; six members passed the exam as a result. Two chapter members have proctored the CPS exam for four years.
Scholarships and FSA Activities: Sponsored and assisted many students with scholarships since 1957 (West Valley Occupational Center and Pierce College). Sponsored two FSA chapters: Pierce College and Monroe High School (no longer active).
Membership: Usually in the 30-40 range, fluctuating from the original 21 members to a peak of 55-60. Membership awards for greatest increase (California Division): 1959, 1964, 1974, 1980, 1994, 1995.
Division and other NSA/PSI/IAAP Activities: The chapter has sent a delegate to International Convention every year from 1956-2003, 2004, 2006-7 and the chapter is always represented at California Division Annual Meetings, Southwest District Conferences (cancelled after 2003) and other official Division and International events.
Sponsored five new chapters: Los Robles Chapter, Thousand Oaks; Santa Clarita Valley Chapter; Antelope Valley Chapter; LA-Metropolis Chapter and Conejo Valley Chapter. Represented on the LAN (Local Area Network) with Antelope Chapter, LA-Metropolis Chapter, Pasadena Chapter, Pomona Chapter and San Gabriel Chapter.
Some members serve on the Pierce College Computer Applications & Office Technologies Department Advisory Committee.
1960 Hosted California CPS Award Luncheon at the Bel-Air Hotel.
1961 Co-hosted International Convention.
1963 Co-hosted California Division Annual Meeting with San Fernando Valley Chapter.
1966 Hosted Division Forum.
1979 Hosted Division Forum again.
1987 Co-hosted International Convention.
1995 Hosted California Division Leadership Orientation South
1999 Hosted California Division Annual Meeting.
